What was your views on this as it personally annoyed the living monkey out of me. I remember reading a FAQ and it says for one of the weapons you must not open certain chests in the game. To me that defies the point of a chest!

What did you guyd think anyway?

Well there are 5 certain points where you musn't open particular chests so that you will be able to get the Zodiac Spear, which is the numero uno in weapons. Once you do collect the Zodiac Spear you can go back and open the chests. So no big loss.

I thought it was interesting...until I realised I hadn't taught any of my characters to use the weapon.

I hated how you couldn't open the chests because I love opening chest, and the thought of me passing one up made me sad.  Cry

And the other thing was that I had already beaten the game before I figured out you couldn't open certain chest. And I didn't really care enough to go beat the game again just to get a weapon.

It just seemed that they crammed to much over stuff to do and like you said, chests are there to be open. Unless you read the strategy guide before you purchased the game, you wouldn't know about that neither. When I found out I couldn't get a certain weapon because of this it kinda confused me.

Just curious, but how did you find out that you weren't supposed to open the chests? Was it a msg in-game or did you just find out through an faq?

I got to a stage in the game where I wanted to know where to get some of the weapons and when I read an FAQ it stated that there were certain chests that you do not open so you can get the weapon. To me this just defies the point of having the chests in the first place.

Yeah I know, it is somewhat just as frustrating as in FFIX where you have to get to the last level within 12 hours to get the most powerful weapon, Save the Queen. There was no way that was happening. But so far I played with an FAQ right from the beginning of FFXII and haven't opened the chests yet, so I'm looking forward to my Zodiac Spear as soon as I can be motivated to get back to playing it again. I think I'm still in Giruvuagen.
